Overview

Alfred is your AI-powered course concierge. Deployed as a chat widget on your scorecard and website, Alfred answers player questions, provides course info, suggests food items, and helps with common requests — 24/7, without staff involvement.

Plan required: Premium plan or higher.

Before You Start

  • Premium plan subscription active
  • Course details filled in (address, hours, rules, amenities)
  • Food menu set up (if you want Alfred to recommend food)
  • Decided on Alfred's personality tone (friendly, professional, playful)

Step-by-Step Setup

Enable Alfred

Go to Dashboard → Manage → Alfred tab. Toggle "Enable Alfred AI" to ON. The chat widget will appear on your scorecard immediately.

Configure Knowledge Base

Alfred automatically knows your course details, hours, pricing, and menu. Review and update your course info to ensure Alfred gives accurate answers.

Set Personality & Tone

Choose Alfred's communication style. Options range from casual and playful to professional and concise. This affects how Alfred phrases responses.

Add Custom Responses

Set up custom Q&A pairs for questions specific to your course. Examples: parking directions, birthday party info, rain policy, pet rules.

Test Alfred

Open your scorecard and tap the Alfred icon. Ask common questions like "What are your hours?", "Do you serve food?", and "Where can I park?" to verify responses.

Configuration

Knowledge Base

Alfred's knowledge comes from your course profile. Make sure these are up to date:

  • Course Info: Name, address, phone, email, operating hours
  • Pricing: Per-player rates, group discounts, special offers
  • Menu: Food and drink items (if food ordering is enabled)
  • Rules: Dress code, age requirements, course rules
  • Custom Q&A: Add up to 50 custom question-answer pairs for unique course info

Personality Settings

  • Tone: Friendly, Professional, Playful, or Custom
  • Name: Default is "Alfred" — you can rename to match your brand
  • Avatar: Use the default robot icon or upload a custom avatar
  • Greeting: Customize the initial message when a player opens the chat
  • Fallback: Set what Alfred says when it can't answer a question (e.g., "Let me connect you with our staff...")

Widget Settings

  • Position: Bottom-right (default) or bottom-left
  • Color: Matches your course accent color automatically
  • Ranger Portal: Staff can view Alfred conversations and take over when needed
  • Auto-Open: Optionally open the chat automatically after 30 seconds for first-time visitors
  • Availability: Always on, or limit to operating hours only

Check the Ranger Portal weekly for questions Alfred couldn't answer. Add those as custom Q&A pairs.

If your course is family-friendly and fun, set Alfred to "Playful" mode. Corporate venues might prefer "Professional".

Promote Food Orders

Alfred can suggest menu items to players. Make sure your menu is complete so Alfred can make great recommendations.

Troubleshooting
