Sponsorship System Guide

8 min read Premium+ plan Revenue

Overview

The Sponsorship System lets you sell digital ad placements to local businesses. Sponsors can place their logos and promotions on scorecards, leaderboards, TV displays, and more. It's a new revenue stream that requires zero additional hardware — just digital placements on screens players are already looking at.

Plan required: Premium plan or higher.

Before You Start

  • Premium plan subscription active
  • List of potential local sponsors (restaurants, shops, services near your course)
  • Sponsorship pricing decided (per month, per quarter, or per event)
  • Sponsor logo files collected (PNG or JPG, recommended 400x200px min)

Step-by-Step Setup

1

Enable Sponsorships

Go to Dashboard → Manage → Sponsorship tab. Toggle "Enable Sponsorships" to ON.

2

Create Sponsorship Slots

Define where sponsors can appear: scorecard header, scorecard footer, leaderboard sidebar, TV display rotation, and hole-specific placements.

3

Add Sponsors

For each sponsor, upload their logo, add a link (website or offer URL), and assign them to one or more placement slots. Set the sponsorship period (start and end date).

4

Preview Placements

Use the dashboard preview to see how sponsor logos appear on scorecards and displays. Adjust sizing and placement as needed.

5

Share Engagement Reports

After each sponsorship period, share impression and click reports with sponsors to demonstrate value and secure renewals.

Configuration

Placement Slots

  • Scorecard Header: Logo appears above the scorecard. Highest visibility — every player sees it.
  • Scorecard Footer: Logo at the bottom of the scorecard. Good for secondary sponsors.
  • Leaderboard: Sponsor logo next to tournament leaderboards. High engagement during events.
  • TV Display: Logo rotates in the TV display slideshow. See the TV Display Guide.
  • Hole-Specific: Assign a sponsor to specific holes (e.g., "Hole 7 sponsored by Joe's Pizza").

Managing Sponsors

  • Logo Upload: PNG or JPG. Recommended min 400x200px. Transparent backgrounds look best.
  • Click-Through URL: Optional link that opens when players tap the sponsor logo.
  • Active Period: Set start/end dates. Expired sponsors are hidden automatically.
  • Priority: When multiple sponsors share a slot, set display order or enable rotation.

Sponsor Analytics

  • Impressions: How many times the sponsor logo was displayed.
  • Clicks: How many players tapped the sponsor link.
  • CTR: Click-through rate (clicks / impressions).
  • Reports: Generate PDF reports to share with sponsors for renewal discussions.

Tips & Best Practices

Go Hyper-Local

Approach businesses within 2 miles of your course. They benefit most from your player demographics.

Share Data

Send monthly impression reports to sponsors. Data transparency builds trust and drives renewals.

Offer Packages

Bundle placements: scorecard + TV display + tournament sponsorship for a premium rate. Bundles are easier to sell than individual slots.

Rotate Seasonally

Offer quarterly sponsorships to keep content fresh and create urgency for renewals.

FAQ

Pricing depends on your player volume and market. Typical ranges: $200-600/month for scorecard placements, $100-300/month for TV display rotation, and $500-1,500 for tournament title sponsorship. Start lower and increase as you demonstrate ROI.
Currently, course owners upload and manage all sponsor content. This gives you quality control over what appears on your platform. A self-service sponsor portal is on the roadmap.
