6 min read Standard+ plan Engagement

Overview

The TV Display system turns any screen into a dynamic information hub for your lobby or course. Show live leaderboards, upcoming events, announcements, sponsor rotations, and real-time course stats. Just open the display URL on a smart TV or connected device.

Plan required: Standard plan or higher.

Before You Start

  • Standard plan subscription active
  • A TV or monitor with a web browser (Smart TV, Chromecast, Fire Stick, or connected laptop)
  • Stable Wi-Fi for the display device
  • Content ready: announcements, event info, sponsor logos

Step-by-Step Setup

1

Enable TV Display

Go to Dashboard → Manage → TV Display tab. Toggle "Enable TV Display" to ON. This generates your unique display URL.

2

Configure Display Content

Choose what to show: live leaderboard, today's schedule, announcements, sponsor rotation, and/or course stats. Enable or disable each section.

3

Add Announcements

Create scrolling announcements for specials, events, or important info. Set display duration and rotation timing.

4

Open on Your TV

Navigate to your display URL on the TV's browser. For the best experience, use a streaming device (Chromecast, Fire Stick) or a connected laptop in fullscreen mode.

5

Test Live Updates

Have a player enter scores on a scorecard and verify they appear on the TV leaderboard in real-time.

Configuration

Display Content

  • Live Leaderboard: Shows current top scores in real-time. Auto-updates via WebSocket.
  • Announcements: Scrolling text messages. Great for specials, events, and course rules.
  • Today's Schedule: Upcoming bookings and events for the day.
  • Course Stats: Players today, rounds completed, course record holder.
  • Tournament Mode: During active tournaments, the display automatically switches to tournament leaderboard.

Layout Options

  • Theme: Dark mode (default) or light mode. Match your venue's aesthetic.
  • Rotation: Cycle between content sections automatically (e.g., leaderboard for 30s, announcements for 15s).
  • Orientation: Landscape (default) or portrait mode. Portrait works well for narrow display spaces.
  • Auto-Refresh: Display auto-refreshes periodically to stay current. No manual intervention needed.

Sponsor Integration

  • Sponsor Rotation: Sponsor logos rotate in a dedicated section of the display.
  • Display Duration: Set how long each sponsor logo shows (5-30 seconds).
  • Full-Screen Takeover: Premium sponsors can have a full-screen ad between content rotations.
  • Integration: Sponsors added in the Sponsorship tab automatically appear on TV displays. See Sponsorship Guide.

Tips & Best Practices

High-Traffic Placement

Put the TV where players wait: lobby, check-in area, or near the first hole. Visibility is everything.

Mute the Display

The TV display is visual-only. Keep audio off or use subtle background music separately.

Adjust Brightness

For glow-golf venues, reduce TV brightness so it doesn't overpower the course lighting.

Celebrate Top Scores

Feature the daily/weekly champion prominently. Players love seeing their name on the big screen.
