PuttPass turns the customers you already have into recurring revenue. Sell season passes and monthly memberships, sold right at the counter at the moment of peak satisfaction, redeemed at the desk by phone or QR, and harvested at the concession stand. Members come back more often because golf feels free, and each visit pulls slushies, pizza, and token spend.
Plan required: Premium plan or higher.
You stay in control of peak hours. Weekend blackout is on by default for your first tier, household size is capped, and paid guests are off. You sell your slow Tuesdays, not your busy Saturdays.
Before You Start
Premium plan subscription active
Stripe Connect payouts onboarded (members pay you directly)
A price decided for each tier (a good anchor is about twice a family round)
Optional: a cover image per tier and your rules and conditions text
Step-by-Step Setup
1
Open the PuttPass tab
Go to Dashboard → Manage → PuttPass. Read the guardrails card, then tap "Turn on PuttPass". We create one safe default season tier you can edit.
2
Set up your tiers
Add or edit each pass tier: name, price, billing type (season one-time or monthly subscription), household size, guests per visit, member cap, and whether weekends are blocked. Upload a cover image so the tier looks great on the join page and the pass.
3
Write your rules and conditions
Add your program rules (blackout dates, guest policy, refunds, transfers). These appear on the join page with a required "I agree" checkbox before anyone pays, so every member sees them.
4
Print the tent card
Tap "Open printable tent card". Print it, fold it on the dashed line, and stand it on your counter. It carries a QR straight to the sub-60-second signup page.
5
Sell it at the register
The single best moment is right after a round, while the family is paying. The kiosk receipt shows a pass upsell automatically, and staff can use the line: "That round was $44, the season pass is $79, want it?"
Configuration
Pass tiers
Season pass: A one-time payment that lasts through the season end date you set.
Monthly membership: A recurring subscription that bills every month until canceled.
Cover image: Uploaded per tier. Shown when that tier is selected on the join page and on the member's pass.
Price: A good anchor is about twice the price of a family round, so two visits pay it back.
Protecting your peak inventory
Weekend blackout: Block a tier from being valid on Saturdays and Sundays.
Off-peak windows: Limit a tier to certain hours when it can be redeemed.
Household size: How many named people share one pass.
Guests per visit: How many paid guests a member may bring (0 by default).
Member cap: Limit how many passes sell while you test the waters (0 means unlimited).
Money flow and fees
Direct payouts: Members pay your course directly through Stripe Connect. You keep the concession upside.
Your first 100 pass sales are free: PuttScores takes 0% platform fee on the first 100 completed pass sales at your course.
After 100: 5% platform fee on Premium, 2.5% on Enterprise, on top of the standard Stripe processing fee.
Direct to you: Pass payments land in your Stripe account; PuttScores only takes the membership platform fee above, never the full pass amount.
How Members Use It
The member experience is built to be effortless, so share this with your staff and your players.
1
Join in under a minute
Scan the counter QR or tap the receipt link. Pick a pass, enter a name, phone, and email, agree to the rules, and pay on a secure Stripe page. No app, no account.
2
Get the pass
The pass is a web link with a QR, also emailed to the member. They save it to their phone. There is no app to download.
3
Check in at the desk
Staff open the PuttPass tab in the staff POS, look the member up by phone, and tap "Check in". Blackout, guest cap, and expired warnings show automatically. Members can also show their pass QR.
Reading the Dashboard
Active members: How many passes are currently active.
Monthly recurring: Revenue from active monthly memberships.
Season revenue: Total collected from season passes.
Visits per member: How often members come back. Higher is healthier.
Concession lift per member visit: The number that proves the model. It compares average member spend to walk-in spend on food and kiosk orders. Measured from the day you go live forward.
Example Scenario
Scenario: How Putters Cove Builds a Season-Pass Base
Illustrative example with projected results. Not based on a specific customer.
Putters Cove sells a $79 family season pass at the register all summer. By August they have 180 passholders. Members visit about twice a month and spend roughly $18 more per visit at the concession stand than walk-ins. The passes themselves brought in front-loaded cash, and the real win is the concession traffic on otherwise slow weekdays.

Tips & Best Practices
Sell at peak joy
The best moment is right after a round while they are already paying. The receipt upsell and a staff one-liner convert far better than a website.
Manufacture visit two
The welcome and 24-hour nudge emails are automatic. A member who comes back twice has seen the pass pay for itself and renews on identity.
Protect your Saturdays
Keep weekend blackout on for your cheapest tier. Sell your slow days, not your peak inventory.
Watch the lift number
Concession lift per member visit is the proof the model works. If it is positive, every renewal pays for itself in food and drinks.

FAQ
Not unless you let them. Weekend blackout is on by default for your first tier, and you can set off-peak hours and member caps per tier. You decide exactly when a pass is valid.
Members pay your course directly through Stripe Connect. You must finish Stripe onboarding in the Payouts tab before you can enable PuttPass.
On pass sales, your first 100 are free. After that, the platform fee is 5% on Premium and 2.5% on Enterprise, on top of the standard Stripe processing fee. Food, kiosk, and booking purchases carry their normal PuttScores platform fee, the same as they do today.
Yes. Set the household size on the tier. Any named household member can present the pass. You can also allow or block paid guests per visit.
Staff can look them up by phone at the desk, no link needed. The member can also tap "Email me this link" on their pass page to have it sent again.
Troubleshooting
Issue
Cause
Fix
Cannot turn on PuttPass
Stripe Connect payouts not onboarded, or not on the Premium plan
Finish Stripe onboarding in the Payouts tab and confirm your plan is Premium or higher.
Member shows up but cannot check in
Blackout date, off-peak window, or the pass is expired or past due
The desk panel shows the reason. Offer the walk-up rate, or send them to renew if the pass expired.
Pass not active right after payment
The confirmation can lag a few seconds behind the payment
The success page shows an "activating" state and emails the link the moment it is ready. No second charge is made.
Desk lookup finds no pass
Phone number entered differently, or the pass belongs to another location
Re-enter the mobile number, or ask the member to show their pass page. Passes are scoped to the location that sold them.
